Gary Bond's miscellaneous work: in the fashion business with Millie's Bazaar ...
From the Daily Gleaner of 26th June, 1969:
Millie in fashion
"JAMAICAN pop singer Millie Small is now in the fashion business. According to the Daily Express of June 15, Millie, who has been living in England for some years, recently became co-director of a newly-formed finance company which is opening a "Millie's Bazaar" in Brighton. Millie's partner is actor Gary Bond. The bazaar will be the first of a chain of similar establishments planned throughout the United Kingdom. Although Millie made pop history when her record "My Boy Lollipop" sold four million copies, it is some time since her name has been seen on the British charts. She told the Express reporter, however, that she has been very busy touring the world. She became engaged recently to 29 year-old Englishman Eddie Wolfram and they plan to be married next year."

However it seems that the venture was not a success:
"In February 1969, she signed a one-year deal with Decca, and soon after respected in-house producers, Dick Rowe and Ivor Raymonde supervised a recording session that produced a quartet of sides of which 'Readin', Writin', Arithmetic' and 'I Want You Never To Stop' saw release back-to-back late in June. Around this time, the singer also opened 'Millie's Smile Bazaar' a fashion boutique in the south coast town of Brighton, but as with the Decca deal, any early optimism for the shop was soon replaced by disappointment and any ambition to make her mark as a retail entrepreneur were shelved."

From The Daily Express, 14th June 1969:
That's Show Biz! Now Lollipop Girl Millie is in the Lolly!
"Millie, the Jamaican-born pop singer who had a world-wide hit record at 16 with 'My Boy Lollipop', is back in business - big business. Yesterday, with actor Gary Bond, she became director of a newly-formed finance company which is opening a "Millie's Smile Bazaar" in Brighton. Costing £20,000, the bazaar incorporates 18 shops ranging from fashion boutiques to antiques and dry cleaning, a restaurant, and a discotheque.
It is being opened on one of Brighton's main thoroughfares and will be the first of a chain planned throughout Britain. Millie, now 21, also became engaged to her manager, 29-year-old Englishman Eddie Wolfram."
